  • My wife loves her CPX-3. MCARBO spring kit and a polished feed ramp turned this ok pistol into one of the best .380’s on the market. Double strike capability, high capacity, light recoil, stainless steel barrel and slide. Very accurate and easy to operate. Oh and it was $200. I am not easily impressed and I had my doubts but I would definitely buy it again. The spring kit was $20 and it cut the trigger pull weight almost 50%.

  • James loves his Kel-tec's, and in opinion SCCY is an improvement. Hop's disdain for a pistol he obviously knows nothing about is telling. My CPX-3 has been 100%, accurate and easy to shoot, even with the DAO trigger. It has given me no reason not to trust it as much as my Glocks.

  • I carried a CPX-2 for a few years. Solid gun. 10 rounds for the size was nice. Eventually switched back to my CZ P-07 as size difference wasn't much different. Trigger reset was a bit long too. Funny enough sold to my Mom!

  • Good review & counter-arguements for owning this gun & also not owning this gun.

    I'd rather spend an extra $70 and buy a Taurus G2C w/ 2 MecGar 12 round magazines.

  • The idea of “having a defensive gun just to have” is really objectionable. Not everyone has to live on the range or even go regularly but some level of proficiency IS a part of responsible firearm ownership. You don’t have to enjoy range time but you absolutely need to know how to use a deadly weapon if you’re going to carry one and not be a liability to everyone around you the one time you do have to use it.

  • This guy is a real douches bag!
He is also a gun snob!
I did research that’s why I got the gun dumb azz!
The CPX-3 is reliable, it holds 10 rounds, it’s inexpensive, and it’s accurate!
    All that for around $200
    It’s not perfect, but neither is a $500 380.

  • You sell your viewers short, as far as “who would want to know about these types of guns”. Even “gun guys” have wives/kids who would benefit from shooting/carrying guns like this.

  • Good review, but it really sounds like he's talking down to a particular sub-set of gun owners. Not everyone can afford upper middle /high end firearms.
We need all gun owners to be on the same page, from those who own a Jennings 9mm to Browning Hi-Powers.

  • Thanks for the review, My wife age mid-'60s has a weak grip so she has a lot of trouble pulling the slide on my M&P Shield or my son's Rugar LCP even using a firm grip on the slide and pushing forward on the pistol. There is a kit for changing the trigger spring on the CPX3 that reduces the trigger pull from 8 to 4 lbs. I have been doing a lot of research to find a concealable pistol for her, with a slide that she can rack and a trigger that needs less force to pull. This one is high on the list.

  • I have had my SCCY for a couple years now, I do not get why people dislike them so much. It shots to point of aim. It's very reliable. And is small enough to pocket carry. Not to mention really light for a double stack. Remember Gaston Glock wanted to sell his pistol for under 200 dollars. His Marketing team said it was a bad idea because no one would by it because it would be considered cheap. Who are the real suckers? SCCY is also not the only pistol I own lol. I have about 20 from many brands. SCCY is perfectly fine for it's intended purpose. Do not ever let someone make you feel like crap just because you can not afford the almighty Glock, Because a guarantee you they cost about the same to be made. You just pay for a name.

  • Had the Sccy first gen. 9mm.

Front sight popped off during my first range shoot…

    12 lbs trigger pull….

Sold mine as soon as I got it back…

  • I have a CPX-2 it's been a great gun so far, No jams just like my Glocks. Bottom line if it works it works. People get too caught up on brand names. I paid $129 for it brand new. That's a great deal for a reliable american-made gun.

  • Why did I buy a SCCY? It is a cheap throw a way pistol for CCW self defense. I have no delusions about being a Rambo to the rescue at my local Walmart, but I do carry concealed almost everywhere. I want a low cost pistol that is reliable, accurate, and won't bother me if it gets scratched. It is also cheap enough that if I do have to use it, when the police take it while they do their investigation, I won't fret or worry over it. I have other more expensive pistols to shoot for fun and accuracy, but they are too large to conceal carry everywhere. My SCCY has never ever not gone bang when I pulled the trigger and that is what a CCW pistol is supposed to do.

  • I carried a CPX2 for over a year. Did a lot of research before buying. Qualified for my license with it. Was pleased with it, but yes, it isn't meant for thousands of rounds. That's the only reason I changed.

  • Had few sccy, , call sccy, with some ideas and concepts, want people like, and don't like, try to, see if , they can, make, it in 22mag, or 22lr, or make 22 tcm 9. Drop in barrel, , basically, put the barrel in the pistol, , put the 22tcm -9 bullet in the magazine, and shoot, only thing, is when you discharge round, there a fire ball, comming out the barrel, , sccy pistol, is a good pistol, the only thing, is that they, need to make them in 22mag, , ,, and get on the, wagon, with, tarusa, ruger, keltec, and now glock,

  • My wife has a hard time pulling back the slide on my cpx2, which was my first firearm. At the time I got it because it was in my budget, and all I needed it for was for self defense. I wouldn't say Sccy is for Woman only, it makes a great SD EDC.
